If you have questions about what you see in the portal, try chat first. Found on nearly every page in the provider portal, chat is the fastest way to speak with an advocate and get answers to even the most complex inquiries.

Although all users need to have UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal access, some of our other digital solutions can be added to maximize productivity, including:

  • Application Programming Interface (API): API is a free, fully electronic digital solution that automates administrative transactions. As a complement to your portal account, APIs are ideal for larger volume submitters and health care professionals with the technical support to program APIs or outsource implementation.   • Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): EDI is an industry standard, secure digital method for you to submit and receive batch transactions for multiple members and payers. No calls necessary for benefit and eligibility checks, claim status requests and more.
