Attest to mental and developmental disability accommodations
The states of Tennessee and Massachusetts have recently announced a regulatory requirement where health care professionals now need to display the mental health, intellectual and developmental disability accommodations they offer in their practice.
What this means for you
To help you meet these new regulatory requirements, we’ve included 2 new areas of expertise fields for you to attest to in your My Practice Profile.
The following information includes the 2 new areas of expertise fields and some examples of the accommodations you can attest to:
- Mental health disability accommodations
- Offering calm, quiet environments
- Providing emotional support
- Involving a support network
- Assisting with medication management
- Intellectual and developmental disability accommodations
- Offering private or sensory rooms
- Offering visual aids and simplified instructions
- Ensuring extra time or assistance with tasks
- Offering additional support and guidance
- Involving a support network
