Texas Medicaid: Enroll to receive your enhanced LTSS rate

As of Aug. 1, 2024, eligibility is simpler for long-term services and supports (LTSS) providers seeking additional compensation. Now, providers contracted with UnitedHealthcare Community of Plan of Texas need only enroll in our Attendant Compensation Enhancement Program (ACEP) to receive the enhanced rate when filing claims. These providers are no longer required to enroll first with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

New this year

In previous years, all LTSS providers were required to enroll in ACEP through HHSC. Enrollment with HHSC now only applies to providers who have a fee-for-service contract with Texas Health and Human Services (HHS).

How to enroll

Complete the UnitedHealthcare Attendant Compensation Enhancement Program (ACEP) form online between now and Oct. 1, 2024, before 5 p.m. This allows you to receive the enhanced rate for state fiscal year (SFY) 2025. You must complete the form annually during the enrollment period to receive the enhanced rate for that fiscal year.

What you need to know

  • ACEP applies to providers who are contracted with STAR+PLUS and UnitedHealthcare Connected™ Medicare-Medicaid Program (MMP)
  • When you enroll in the program, we’ll retroactively pay you the enhanced rate for claims going back to Sept. 1, 2024
  • If you’re enrolling in ACEP for the first time, we’ll mail your updated Participation Agreement for you to sign and return it to us. We’ll begin paying your enhanced rate after we process the amendment.
  • Use your enhanced rate when submitting claims to us
