Myopia affects our ability to see far-away objects clearly and has been linked to a greater riskopen_in_new of developing serious eye diseases later in life. Unfortunately, myopia is on the rise, affecting around 42% of all Americansopen_in_new and 36% of childrenopen_in_new nationwide. By 2050, it is projected that 50% of people worldwideopen_in_new will be nearsighted. 

As part of our commitment to drive awareness and help offset the costs associated with myopia management, we have partnered with Treehouse Eyesopen_in_new to offer UnitedHealthcare Vision members discounts on treatment at participating locations, as well as online consultations at no additional cost nationwide. 

Treehouse Eyes is a leader in helping myopic kids. They offer specialized treatment to slow or stop the progression of myopia in children. The treatment discount is a value-added discount currently offered at these participating Treehouse Eyes locationsopen_in_new around the Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Seattle and Washington DC areas. The discount consists of a complimentary comprehensive assessment for myopia and a $250 discount off the first year of myopia management treatment for new pediatric patients. This discount is separate from our members’ vision benefit plan.
