Get certified in the new Clinical Care and Coordination Program

February 2023

The new Clinical Care and Coordination Program has officially launched. This program is a comprehensive provider and member engagement program to influence the best outcomes for diabetic members.

Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness among adults, ages 18-64 years old1. With more than 11% of the US population living with diabetes1 and 38% of adults with prediabetes1, it is important for providers and members to understand the dangers of diabetes to our overall health and wellness, especially when it comes to vision.

You can become certified in our new Clinical Care and Coordination Program, which includes a directory designation with a badge displayed by your name2. The program also offers exam reminders for members, notifications to PCPs and ongoing education opportunities. You are eligible for certification once you meet our established clinical and quality program criteria.

Program certification criteria

  • Must be an active provider with UnitedHealthcare Community Vision Network/March Vision Network for exams and materials
  • Complete the required training courses
  • Perform dilation/retinal imaging on diabetic patients during comprehensive exam
  • Send notifications with exam outcomes for every diabetic member to their PCP
  • Submit CPT® II codes on vision claims to UnitedHealthcare Community Vision Network/ March Vision Network
