Frequently asked questions
Where can I get real-time updates or assistance?
You can view real-time status updates on your application to join the UnitedHealthcare network of hospitals and facilities in Onboard Pro. Once signed in, you'll be able to see the dashboard, which shows projected completion dates for both contracting and credentialing. If you need additional help, please connect with us 24/7 through chat.
If a facility is part of the UnitedHealthcare network of hospitals and facilities, does that cover all the health care professionals working there?
No. All individual health care professionals associated with any participating UnitedHealthcare network of hospitals and facilities must go through the credentialing and contracting process. A facility contract does not include the health care professionals working there.
Can I change or terminate my UnitedHealthcare contract?
Yes. Your contract with us can be renegotiated or terminated. To start this process, please connect with us through chat in the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal.
Can I be credentialled in more than one state?
Yes. Since Onboard Pro currently only handles single-state requests, you’ll need to submit individual applications for each state.

Recredentialing
UnitedHealthcare automatically starts the process when you approach the 3-year credentialing cycle. If you maintain a complete and current data attestation every 120 days, there's nothing more you need to do.
