New ID cards coming for some commercial plan members
Watch for new card details on select plans
On or after April 1, 2024, upon plan renewal, members of some Individual or Group Market health plans listed below will be issued new member ID cards containing updated information.
- ID card changes for members with fully insured plans will include a new group number, member ID numbers, Rx group code and mailing address for medical claims
To avoid claim processing issues, please ask for the member ID card at each visit to verify these key details and, if needed, update them in your billing system.
The updates will affect members in 19 fully insured plans across 6 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands:
- States/territories: California, Delaware, Washington D.C., Florida, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the U.S. Virgin Islands
- Plans: Choice, Choice Plus, Core, Core Essential, Doctors Plan, Heritage Select, Heritage Select Advantage, Heritage Select Plus, Navigate, Navigate Balanced, Navigate Plus, Nexus ACO OA, Nexus ACO OAP, Nexus ACO R, Nexus ACO RP, Non-Diff PPO, Options PPO, Select and Select Plus

Over time, we’ve been making changes to our internal system to improve the efficiency of benefit lookups, payments and referral experiences.
These releases will not affect your access to the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal or your ability to perform tasks such as prior authorizations, claim submissions or benefit determinations. However, you may experience changes in the user experience as services continue to transition.
